The Palette

Preface:

I spend a great deal of time analyzing my work (probably more time than I spend painting, unfortunately). About a year ago, I started keeping a journal so I could track these thoughts over time. For the first while, the majority of it focused on concerns for some sort of technical faculty, and my entries eventually came to include broader things like choice, and my motivations to paint in the first place.

This section will act as a digital version of that journal, continually growing.

Note: From here on out, what is meant by the term 'painting,' is representational painting from observation. As a representational painter who works almost exclusively from direct observation, I can only comment as such. I mention this in the interest of saving myself the time of explaining it in each instance.

I should also mention that although I have made an effort to organize this website into categories for easy navigation, a certain amount of overlap is inevitable. Please be patient as the site evolves.
