April 04, 2009:
Early in 2006, at the end of my junior year in college, I hung my first solo show in the student gallery at PNCA. I had just finished a course of independent study where I completed several still life paintings which made up the bulk of the exhibition.
After the show came down, I coordinated with buyers and personally delivered all the sold paintings (as students do). On one such delivery, I met with a nice lady who had scheduled my visit about five minutes prior to a meeting with her art dealer, MaryAnn Deffenbaugh, to whom I was introduced. I received an email from MaryAnn the following day asking me to bring some work into the gallery and meet her partner, Rod Pulliam.
Since that meeting in 2006 I have participated in three shows with Pulliam Deffenbaugh Gallery, including an 'Introduction' in 2008.
I mentioned previously that Pulliam Deffenbaugh Gallery was restructuring their operation. The Oregonian just released an update with more information about the gallery's future.

Continuous:
I teach an observational painting class at O.S.A. (Oregon Society of Artists).
The Portrait, Still life, and Landscape are among the subjects covered. Focusing on observational drawing and painting, students learn to analyze what they see and record it with accuracy. Various observational techniques such as sight-size drawing, and tips for achieving color accuracy, are discussed.
Class time: Mondays, 1:30 - 4:30pm.
