I am in the process of assembling content for the “art world” section of the site. The delay has been finishing enough pages to let the section stand on its own, and until that happens, I will be posting links to the individual pages here in the blog.
The first of [hopefully] many artist-interviews to come, is a discussion with David Cobley.
I have admired David Cobley’s work for some time, and he was recently gracious enough to contribute to this website by participating in an email interview with me. I must thank David again, for helping me to get the ball rolling with this project and sharing his time and patience, as this is a learning process for me.

Beginning September 8th, I will be teaching an observational painting class at O.S.A. (Oregon Society of Artists).
The Portrait, Still life, and Landscape will be among the subjects covered. Focusing on observational drawing and painting, students will learn to analyze what they see and record it with accuracy. Various observational techniques such as sight-size drawing, and tips for achieving color accuracy, will be discussed.
Class times: Mondays, 1:30 - 4:30, beginning September 8, 2008
